In Sonic Advance 3, if any of the lead characters ( Sonic, Knuckles, Tails or Cream) have Amy as his/her partner, they can also perform the Hammer Attack with their own version of the Piko Piko Hammer. This is usually done in gameplay by tapping the Action button. The move sometimes leaves a trail of pink hearts. In the Sonic series, the basic Hammer Attack is where Amy conjures her Piko Piko Hammer and whacks in front of her which damages enemies that come into contact with the hammer. To compensate for this, Amy instead uses her skills with her personal weapon, the Piko Piko Hammer, to attack her enemies. It has increased combat consistency and much farther range, hence the name. In gameplay, if Amy draws an S Card in battle, she will perform the Revolving Hammer Attack on the enemy, which always does five damage points.Unlike most other characters in the Sonic the Hedgehog series, Amy often lacks the ability to perform the Spin Attack and its variations. In Sonic Shuffle, the Spin Hammer Attack is named Revolving Hammer Attack ( 回転ハンマー, Kaiten Hanmā ?, lit. Its durable and unlike many other figures, she does not fall over, even if she has her Piko Piko Hammer in hand. However, the radius can be increased by obtaining the Long Hammer. The depiction of Amy is quite accurate, from her shoes, and especially her facial expression which I would say fits perfectly with her portrayal in Sonic Generations. Another downside is that this move has a small attack radius, and since the player is rooted in place when executing it, it is difficult to use. The downside to this move is that if it is performed for too long, Amy will get dizzy and temporarily lose coordination, causing her to stagger around uncontrollably for a few seconds regardless of the player's controller inputs. In gameplay, the player can perform the Spin Hammer Attack by holding down / / / and spinning the analog stick in a circle. In this game, Amy must have obtained the Warrior Feather to perform it. Amy has different version of her Piko Piko Hammer and can summoned them out her Hammer Space out of nowhere. The Spin Hammer Attack first appeared in Sonic Adventure and Sonic Adventure DX: Director's Cut.
